5-stage-pano-2Since its ad hoc creation, LeeFest has continued to grow and improve at an almost exponential rate. Mostly this has happened naturally, but for the parts we play as organisers we try our best to stick to a few principles that we believe make the festival what it is.

Fun

The reason LeeFest ever happened in the first place was because of the desire to have fun. So the main aim of every year is for everyone involved to have amazing fun throughout the entire process, from the organisers to the audience.

Organic vs. Bigger and Better

We want the festival to grow organically. However, as organisers we don’t just sit back and wait. We believe in using our energy and enthusiasm to improve the festival every year, making it bigger and better in every way that we can – but making sure we do it at a rate, and in a way that is right for the event.

Non-Profit

Keeping the festival non-profit is a safeguard to protect everything that the festival stands for. Ensuring that any profits are split between charity and being put back into the event means it can never fall prey to the natural greed of man. The audience get an event that is entirely worth the ticket price and everybody coming together to support a good cause creates an amazing atmosphere!

Opportunities

We believe that LeeFest should be about offering opportunities and inspiration as well as an entertaining weekend for the audience. We offer opportunities to unsigned artists to play alongside seasoned professionals. That way the amateurs can learn a thing or to from the professional experience, and we’re pretty sure the pro’s learn a thing or two from the emerging talent’s energy and creativity! Not just for the musicians though, we also offer opportunities for people to get involved in all aspects from tech crew to creative design for the festival and even building the site. It’s all about learning from each other and being constructive. Check out all opportunities in our Collaborate section.

Bringing People Together

LeeFest started as a community of 150 young people in a back garden, and it has now grown to 2500 people in a field but we try to keep the same vibes. Although being centered around young people we have now reached out and have an audience of all ages, shapes and sizes. It’s one of those events when everybody comes together to celebrate life.

Clean and tidy

Our little piece of countryside amongst suburbia is beautiful, so we make sure we leave it exactly how we found it!
